Drogheda Credit Union Alzheimer’s Support

Drogheda Credit Union come up Trumps Again for Drogheda & East Meath Alzheimer’s.

The vision of the Alzheimer’s group is where no one goes through dementia alone and where policies and services respond appropriately to the person with dementia and their carers, at the times they need support. Drogheda Credit Union are delighted to help with this vision by donating €5000 towards the new Day Care Centre in Drogheda.

The Day Centre project, Treadagh Lodge has always operated from a temporary facility and now with local funding they are now able to relocate to a purpose built centre at a site at Greenhills Drogheda, kindly provided by Louth County Council. Over €700K has been raised over the last 20 years based on the tremendous generosity of the people and businesses in the local community of Louth and East Meath and Drogheda Credit Union were keen to help in some small way with the last push.

The new centre will double the current capacity and enable Drogheda Alzheimer’s to accommodate 25 clients each day. The hope is to be able to move into the new centre by the end of 2021 and they look forward to showing off the premises to all the people in the local community that has enabled this project happen. §
