Senior Cycle Option

We normally hold Senior Cycle Options evenings for Third Year and Idirbliain dáltaí and their tuismitheoirí at this time of year. This will be done virtually this year. Options night will begin with an information session on Idirbliain, the established Leaving Certificate and the Leaving Cert Applied programme. This will be followed with short videos on each option subject offered here in Coláiste na hInse, detailing what each subject involves, how each subject is assessed and the careers this subject can lead on to.

Incoming First Years

The Entrance Exam for incoming First Year students has been postponed. We intend to hold it on the first Saturday after the school re-opens. We have 35 general classrooms in the school so dáltaí will be socially distanced taking this exam. When the Entrance Exam has been completed, we will hold a virtual open night for incoming First Year dáltaí and their tuismitheoirí about the school and the subject choices available.

Students Reach National Mace Final

The Grand Final of the delayed 2020 Junior Debating National Mace took place at the end of January. From more than 500 competitors, the final 8 debated whether Minister Foley should resign, with Coláiste na hInse’s own Kyla Boyle in opposition. After a fiercely contested debate, Kyla finished in 4th place – an incredible achievement in the largest debating competition in the country. In equally impressive news, Kyla’s younger sister Phoebe was announced as the National First Year Champion after reaching the semifinals of the main competition.
