Stamullen Harps was established the same year our very own Soccer Academy began.
There had been no football club in the Stamullen area since the early 1990s when Gormanston Celtic had a functioning football club.
For years, People who lived in the village would go further away from the area to play football, to the likes of Glebe North FC, Balscadden FC and Balbriggan FC

In the summer of 2011, two brothers, Con O’Brien and Eoghan O’Brien, decided to start up a new Senior Stamullen team.
There had been talk of a senior team being developed as “a football club project” since 2008. Although this never materialised, the players involved would go onto play with this new senior team.

Sunday 5th September 2011 will always be an important date in our history: Our first competitive match: A 2-0 win over JK Celtic at home which was at the original ground in Gormanston, beside the Cock Tavern. After dropping the Harps name after the first season, we became AFC Stamullen, as we battled through all the leagues in the Amateur Football League. In our first five years, we managed to get a couple of promotions and a couple of cup semi-finals before finally succeeding in winning silverware in 2016, when we beat Chanel SSC 4-1 at home on Tuesday 24th May 2016 to secure the Amateur Football League title.

In what was such a successful summer in 2016, we merged with Stamullen FC in July, and with it, its academy, underage teams and over 35 team, to be part of the community as one club. This also welcomed the move from the AFL to the AUL league which we now ply our trade. The next 4 years saw us holding our own against some very good teams from Dublin, as we went on Leinster Shield runs, cup runs and league challenges only to fall short.

The 2020/21 season is our 10th season as a senior team. It is also the first season we opted to play Saturday football. Our 2019/20 season ended abruptly in March. When football returned int the summer, we took part in a strong 10 week pre-season that included 10 friendlies to prepare us for the season ahead.
We kicked off our season with a comfortable 5-1 away victory against St.Brendans on Saturday 12th September 2020. 6 days later, no more matches were to be played until further notice.

We continued to train, only to adhere to the rules from the Government that in mid October, senior teams were to stop training until December.
We managed to get a couple more weeks of training in December. It’s now over 2 months since our last team training session.
We currently wait patiently, as we prepare ourselves for a return to football and an opportunity to continue to write history and build a successful club
