Star of the Sea Conference

Christmas is a time for giving, for sharing and helping. It is also a time when people and families have many problems which means that the pressure on SVP to respond to their needs is much greater. SVP is a voluntary community organisation which is financed by the community. The members in our conference assess families and individuals needs and pass on your support to them.

It is with great urgency that we write to you during these challenging times as Christmas approaches. Generating funds has been very difficult for the conference for the past two years, we are strained financially but thankfully we have been able to maintain our level of service due to a generous response by our benefactors.

For the second time Christmas hampers which have been so welcome to more than 150 families will not be organised this Christmas but the good news is that they will be replaced by vouchers.

St Vincent De Paul locally appeals to you to help us in these difficult times. A cash donation or food voucher of any value for any supermarket, Centra, Tesco, Dunnes, Aldi, Pennies or a butcher would be an excellent help. You may give your donation to any member of SVP locally or contact any of the officers listed to arrange a donation or have a query answered. To make a bank transfer ring 0872542408 for details. You can send us a message on svpstarofthesea2020@gmail.com

People may also make a donation, however small, to our online Christmas Appeal http://www.svp.ie/starofthesealaytownappeal We get 100% of your donation as there is no service charge.

Our Christmas Church Gate collection takes place after masses, in the Sacred Heart Church Laytown and Star of the Sea Church Mornington on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December

Let us put charity into practice this year and go out and assist those who are poor.”

100% of all money collected from whatever source including online goes into our account and is spent locally.

Thank you for your unstinting support and with your continued help we will cater for the needs of people in our community with dignity and respect.
