Le Chéile E.T.N.S. – May 2021

The End of Term 2 and the beginning of Term 3 have been full of events for the children of Le Chéile E.T.N.S.
Classic and modern book characters leapt from their pages as children donned costumes and dressed up as book characters for World Book Day. Younger pupils were excited to spot “the Trunchbull”, roaming the characters and Bruce Bogtrotter even made it to a Zoom assembly. Even more book characters were created from potatoes while the older classes waited patiently to get back to school.

When all the classes returned we celebrated our national day with a “Lá Glas”, engaging children with music, dance and Irish language fun events like quizzes.

The last week of April proved to be a lively one as well with Active School Week. There was some friendly competition over several weeks to see which 4 classes would run the most in the “Run around Ireland” challenge, whilst building stamina and fitness. Every class enjoyed circuit training and there were video challenges at home for everyone to try as well.

We were all impressed to see teacher Heather do 17 continuous cartwheels. Tennis coaching with David Black has also started and children continue to enjoy their Gaelic training. The whole school are inspired to keep active with the winning slogan of the AW competition “ Walk, run, think and play, these are things we do each day”. §
