Fit Kids/Fit Teens Dance School

After eighteen months of lockdown restrictions Fit Kids/Fit Teens local Dance School are back with a bang!!! After winning the Irish Crew Championships to represent the country at The World Hip Hop event in Arizona, they were deeply disappointed when it was cancelled due to the current pandemic. However, spirits were lifted when one of the dancers( Hannah Adeogun) was offered the part of Anna in the new RTE drama series KIN. Fit Kids/Fit Teens founder Jacinta Cassidy from Mornington is thrilled at Hannah’s success and was even more delighted when producers asked if a group of her Teens could also be part of some dancing scenes. The group had a great time on set with some inspirational actors including Aidan Gillen(Game Of Thrones), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Ciaran Hind (Harry Potter), Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Commitments) and Emmett J Scanlan (Peaky Blinders).

Aware of the devastating mental affect that the Covid restrictions has had on many teenagers, Jacinta is offering a FREE trial class to anyone aged 12 to 21 years at Laytown Parochial Hall on Thursdays at 6pm. She believes that dance has always been a healthy way to express joy or pent-up frustrations and a great way of socializing. Just contact her on 0862685280 to book a place.

The dance school is looking forward to their Christmas term where the young Fit Kids(from 3 years) will perform ‘The Toy Shop’ at their seasonal Display and the older children will enjoy the styles of Locking, Popping, Breakdance, Afro Style, Waacking and Party Hip Hop. Each dancer will be awarded a ‘medal of achievement’. Many dancers come to class just to learn the latest moves and remain fit in a fun environment. For those who enjoy the thrill of competition the dance school will also be preparing to compete in the Irish Hip Hop Masters 2022 In Tralee in March. Fee per FKFT session remains at €8 with family discount for two or more also available. §
