< Previous© October 2018 The Meath Coaster60up to fifteen keepers every week. The boys and girls from across the club, some of them often outfield players just enjoy-ing the extra quality training, continue to learn skills including fast footwork and quick reactions. We look forward to the second half of the season with all this group continuing their valuable work, every team at the club has improved as a result of what these lads do and for that we’re extremely grateful. Minnistown Road - Reduce SpeedAs all our teams & our Academy have re-turned to action the volume of traffic has increased not just at weekends but also during the evening nights too. Our Com-mittee respectfully ask that parents, mem-bers, coaches are mindful of their speed along this road (60kmh on both sides of from Julianstown R150 leading onto Min-nistown Rd L56161 & from Drogheda road to Minnistown Rd L56161), & with-in our car park, please also take extra care whilst exiting too. Children, pedestrians, cyclists, horses & farm machinery are out & about so please slow down, drive with care & leave in plenty of time to get to Minnistown for training & or matches on time.Minnistown - No Dogs PermittedIts sad that we report but some visitors to our grounds simply just don’t understand the importance of cleaning up after your dog. The past month we have seen dogs within our grounds. Dog fouling is an is-sue that has been on top of people’s mind as the worst form of litter and has been one of the top issues of complaint from members of the public in recent times. Dog owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets in public areas, but un-fortunately some ignore their responsibil-ities. As dog fouling has negative health implications it is imperative that we strive to reduce the quantity of it on our streets and parks & in our case our grounds in Minnistown.Toxocariasis is a disease found in ani-mal faeces and is caused by the eggs of the roundworm toxocara. These can be passed from dogs to humans through con-tact with animal faeces and contaminated soil. Children are particularly at risk and infection can lead to illness and even par-tial loss of sight. It is an entirely prevent-able health risk and the main reason that dog owners should clean up after their pets. As volunteers of our club we work hard & we endeavour to have the best fa-cilities a club can offer to your child, and of course the best playing surfaces, but how can our members, your kids be safe if visitors both Home & away bring dogs into our grounds.Your dog is your responsibility and not cleaning up after your dog is against the law. Please have some common sense & act responsibly, leave the dog at home.NDSL Cup NewsIn the semi final of the Joe Kirby cup our U13 Galaxy were away to Dunboyne © October 2018 The Meath Coaster61which was played in Summerhill rd & came away victorious by 5-0 & advance now to the final. The day also opened up to the wider public so any girl aged between 6-14 could at-tend. Along with the blitz there was fun skill sta-tions set up for those not participating in the blitz. Also present were mem-bers of our Women’s Na-tional Team.
